What would you do if the person you loved, that one and only was taken from you, over and over again.
Act One: Beginning to an End is the debut record by Bring Me The Author; a new band based out of Burlington/Hamilton Ontario consisting of members Jordan Busutill (guitar/vocals), Jon Busutill (Bass), Craig Ireland (Vocals), Chris Sindrey (drums) & Jamie Stieva (guitar/vocals). BMTA started out as a simple tribute band, a bunch friends paying homage to one of their favorite acts; Coheed and Cambria.
Through a mutual friend Jamie & Chris who were working hard to build a strong reputation with their band Aerith, were introduced to Jordan and his twin brother Jon. The four began working on approximately 16 songs to perform at the tribute show. Throughout the process of practicing the four realized that there was great chemistry and it brought to light the fact that they wished to continue as band after the tribute show was completed.
It was during this time that Jordan approached Jamie & Chris about helping him complete some music he had written for his old band Maddison. After hearing one song, Jamie and Chris agreed, and Bring Me The Author was born and writing began for the debut record.
Jordan and Jamie had always been inspired by concept style records (Coheed & Cambria, Boys night out, The Dear Hunter.) and decided they too wished to weave a story throughout their songs. Jamie had been sitting on an old concept and shared it with Jordan who eagerly expanded on the ideas. Together the two came up with what would become the story of Act One: Beginning to an End. To accompany the record Jamie wrote a manuscript to allow for a more in depth following of the record.
While practicing and rehearsing Act One, the four sought out a front man, someone they believed could expand even more on the story, someone who would lead the band, a person that could get people’s attention. It was discussed many times that Craig Ireland the old singer from Maddison was such a person, and he was asked to come out. Craig was an immediate fit, and he was welcomed into the band.
With the lineup now complete, the five turned their attention to recording their debut record. They enlisted the help of Eric Papky a talented local engineer in Hamilton, who works at Hive Studios. Eric had worked with Jamie and Chris before on their recordings in Aerith. In June of 2012 Bring Me The Author began the process of recording Act One. Over the course of the next six months, between recording with Eric and Jamie the record was completed.
Act One: Beginning to an End chronicles the story of Allseed, The Author and his Prophet Micah as statistician and player respectively in a game between God and The Devil for the souls of man. However, this time things have to be different.
My sweet Motion, it just keeps going over and over, and over, and over, and over, and over again…
